Based on the latest release and update of the 2025 Shanghai Subject Rankings, Amirkabir University of Technology has achieved a distinguished position among the world’s top universities in the field of Marine Engineering.

The University’s notable positions in the 2025 Shanghai Subject Rankings are as follows:

  • Rank 51–75: Mining Engineering

  • Rank 76–100: Marine Engineering

  • Rank 151–200: Metallurgical Engineering

  • Rank 201–300: Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Information Science and Technology, Civil Engineering

  • Rank 301–400: Engineering Sciences, Telecommunications Engineering

The Shanghai Ranking is recognized as one of the most reputable global university ranking systems. In 2025, for the ninth consecutive year, it published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. In this edition, more than 2,000 universities from 100 countries were evaluated across 57 subjects grouped into five broad disciplinary areas.
